Yinchuan, June 10 (Xinhua) – Chen Jianguo, a member of the 16th Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Central Committee, was elected secretary of the CCP Ningxia Hui Autonomous Regional Committee on Sunday.
Chen was elected to the post at the first plenary session of the 10th CCP Ningxia Hui Autonomous Regional Committee held in Yinchuan, capital of Ningxia, in northwest China.
Chen was born in Rongcheng county of eastern Shandong Province in July 1945 and joined the CCP in 1966. He graduated from a special course offered by the economics department of Shandong University in 1982.
Chen had served as vice governor of Shandong Province and deputy secretary of the CCP Shandong provincial committee before he was elected secretary of the CCP Ningxia Hui Autonomous Regional Committee in June 2002.
