Pot Farmer Locked Up
June 28, 2007
A FORMER heroin dealer who tended a huge cannabis farm was jailed for four years and eight months yesterday.
The High Court in Glasgow heard that Joseph Kerr, 50, was looking after nearly 1000 cannabis plants in a farm in Bishopton, Renfrewshire.
The crop had an estimated street value of pounds 135,800.
Kerr, of Old Inn Farm House, Bishopton, admitted that he cultivated the crop on behalf of someone else.
But he refused to give names, telling police: “It’s more than my life’s worth.”
Police also seized pounds 4060 when they raided the farm.
