WWF President Plans Global Fisheries Speech

BLUE HILL – Carter Roberts, president of the World Wildlife Fund, will speak at the Marine Environmental Research Institute at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 12.
Roberts’ topic will be “Solving the Global Fisheries Crisis: Positive Solution from the Field,” and he will discuss the campaign to save fishing grounds in coastal East Africa from permanent collapse by establishing marine protected areas that can serve as spawning grounds for numerous species.
The talk is part of MERI’s Ocean Environment Lecture Series.
