Temple Sinai, 30 Hagen Ave., Cranston, recently held its installation of officers for 2007-08. They are: Ellen Knasin, president; Ellie Wasser, Ellen Jordan, and Barry Rose, vice presidents; Melissa Gergel, treasurer; Sandy Maldavir, financial secretary; and Steve Hirsch, recording secretary.
Kristen J. Smith, of Warwick, was elected as a national officer for Skills USA at its national Leadership and Skills Conference, held recently in Kansas City, Mo.
Smith is a student at the Community College of Rhode Island.
The Kent County ARC/J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center, Warwick, has received $1,000 from the Merrylegs Fund at The Rhode Island Foundation. The grant will be used for the center’s therapeutic horseback riding program, which is based at Cornerstone Farm in Foster. There are currently 14 participants in the program.
