'Twilight' haunts Teen Choice competitors

The vampire movie, Twilight, slew the competition during the 11th annual Teen Choice award ceremonies, winning 11 trophies at the Hollywood event.

The film won for best drama, and captured acting awards for leads Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart and supporting stars Cam Gigandet, Ashley Greene and Taylor Lautner, People magazine reported Monday.

Teens picked Pattinson as Choice Male Hottie, for which he thanked the voters.

I really appreciate it. I have to say, the hottest teens of the year are Twilight fans! he told the crowd during the event taped Sunday for airing Monday on Fox. Choice Female Hottie went to Megan Fox, star of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

U.S. music sensation Jonas Brothers hosted the show and won five awards, including breakout show. Singer Miley Cyrus won six of the surfboard-shaped awards, including best single for The Climb and acting awards for the TV and movie versions of Hannah Montana.

Britney Spears won the Ultimate Choice Award.

TV's Gossip Girl took home best drama and acting awards for Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick.

Zac Efron won acting awards for his performances in the movies, High School Musical 3 and 17 Again.
