Sypris Wins Contract to Provide Component Test Services for Space Shuttle

Sypris Test & Measurement, Inc., a subsidiary of Sypris Solutions, Inc., today announced that it has been awarded a $3.5 million expedited contract by Lockheed Martin for component test services.
Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor on the Space Shuttle Avionics Upgrade Program for United Space Alliance, a prime contractor to NASA. Deliverables, which include testing and qualification of integrated circuits and connectors to be used in upgrading the 1970s-era avionics suite in the remaining space shuttles, are scheduled for delivery in time for flight in 2006.
"This award culminates many years of engineering evaluation and project development in cooperation with prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin," said Mike McEntee, Sypris test division general manager. "This is a significant contract for Sypris and we stand ready to support this important space shuttle avionics upgrade for the space program of our country."
