Blanco to Attend Space Shuttle Liftoff

Gov. Kathleen Blanco will travel to Florida this week for the launch of the space shuttle Endeavour.

NASA invited Blanco to thank her for her efforts in securing funding for the Michoud Assembly Facility’s constellation program, the governor’s press office said.

The Legislature approved $20 million for the New Orleans facility in the last session. Michoud manufactures the external fuel tank for the shuttle program.
