Educators and Students Call New Space Station Crew

WASHINGTON, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Educators and students from Forest Oak Middle School, Gaithersburg, Md., will chat tomorrow morning with the new International Space Station crew, Expedition 10 Commander Leroy Chiao and Flight Engineer Salizhan Sharipov.

The call is 9:20 to 9:40 a.m. EST. Department of Education Deputy Under Secretary for International Affairs Joseph A. Esposito will make opening remarks. Veteran astronaut Carl Walz will also be at the school to visit with students.

This activity supports NASA's efforts to encourage students to study and possibly pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. It is an integral part of NASA's Teaching from Space Program that builds partnerships with the education community to create unique learning opportunities through the use of agency research and educational technology.

The downlink airs live on the Web and on NASA TV, available in the continental U.S. on AMC-6, Transponder 9C, C-Band, at 72 degrees west longitude. The frequency is 3880.0 MHz.
