The Journal: An Inspiration to Everyone
INSPIRATION and awe will sweep across the region next month when Scott Kelly and his crew pay a visit.
They’re currently working on the international space station and solving problems on their own craft, which shares its name with the ship captained by the North-East’s most famous explorer, James Cook.
Come September, however, the crew of the shuttle Endeavour will be touring schools and colleges from the Tyne to the Tees.
The obvious dangers of their current mission, and the central role science plays within it, will not be lost on their audience.
Let’s hope all goes well and that soon we’ll be welcoming them to our region.
