Spacemen to Discuss Views From Above

SPACEMEN are to visit Edinburgh to talk about how views of the Earth from space have changed in the past 50 years.

Veteran cosmonaut Viktor Petrovich Savinykh will lead an expert panel that will discuss photographs taken from half a century of space travel.

During the event, the Russian will join fellow cosmonaut Sergei Vasilyevich Avdeev and NASA astronaut Dr Jay Apt to talk about their own experiences.

The experts will also talk about the effects of natural and human activity on the Earth’s environment and how space research has tried to address these issues.

The talk will take place at the Sheraton Hotel on September 19. Tickets cost GBP 3 and can be booked on 0131 473 2000.
