UFO Or Space Junk? – Unknown Fragment Discovered In Russia
Russian media has reported that a giant "UFO fragment" has fallen from the sky and landed near a remote village in Siberia.
The object resembles a silvery dome and is currently under inspection by Russian experts, who removed the U-shaped objects from the possession of villages over night.
Locals from the village managed to drag the object from the forest where it had fallen by attaching it to a trailer and dragging it through the snow for inspectors to look at it.
Police now have the 440-pound object under close guard, on orders from unnamed authorities.
According to Russian media, the object is not associated with a rocket, missile or any terrestrial space technology.
“The object found is not related to space technology. A final conclusion can be made after a detailed study of the object by experts,” Roscosmos, the Russian space agency, said in a statement posted on The Telegraph's website.
Yuri Bornyakov, who heads the rescue service department of the Kuybyshevsky district in the Novosibirsk region, told media that the object does not contain any type of radiation.
Valery Vasiliev, the head of the Kuybyshevsky Department for Civil Defence and Emergency Situations, said part of the fragment is made of titanium.
“You can see inside it, all is open, it´s empty, no danger here. We were asked to take and store it. We brought it here. And now we are going to wait until they come to take it if they need it,” local police spokesman Sergei Sulein said in a statement.
