International Space Station Astronauts Yuri Malenchenko and Edward Lu Speak to Education Alley Participants at SPACE 2003 Conference

RESTON, Va., Sept 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The Boeing Company and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) have invited some "out-of-this-world guests" to speak to students and teachers at the Long Beach Convention Center on 24 September 2003, at 10:55 AM during the SPACE 2003 Conference. International Space Station Expedition Seven crewmembers Yuri Malenchenko and Edward Lu will answer live questions posed by students from Lakewood High School, St. Cyprian Catholic School, Bancroft Middle School, Carson High School, California State University at Long Beach, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and other schools in the Long Beach area.
Additionally, at 1 PM that day, former astronaut Dr. Roger Crouch and current astronaut Clayton Anderson will discuss astronaut training and their experiences.
Exciting students to become the next generation of pioneers and explorers is one of the main goals of Education Alley, a three-day event in the SPACE 2003 exhibition hall. Attendees will be treated to exhibits and presentations by Dr. Charles Justiz, NASA research pilot, representatives from Civil Air Patrol Aerospace Education, the U.S. Air Force Academy Astronautics Department, California State University at Long Beach Aerospace Engineering Department, NASA Connect, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory Office of Education, the Air Force Research Laboratory, and the Space Store to name a few.
AIAA's SPACE 2003 is the premier space conference and exposition of the year.
