Lucy Activewear Leases Bottom of KOIN Center
By Nathalie Weinstein
A defunct movie theater in the lower level of the KOIN Center is set to become the new headquarters for a Portland-based women's active wear company.
Real estate company Grubb & Ellis announced Monday that Lucy Activewear would move its Northwest Portland offices to a new 17,060- square-foot space at the KOIN Center, located at 222 S.W. Columbia St. in downtown Portland.
The Zimmer Gunsul Frasca-designed tower was sold in July 2007 for $108 million to CommonWealth Partners, of California.
Lucy expects to move into its new space by the end of April, according to Crista Lindberg, director of marketing.
According to Lindberg, general contractor CommonWealth Building Inc. will renovate the former theater to convert it into office space. Working Spaces Project, of Bellevue Wash., will work with
Lucy on interior and space planning as well as furniture selection. The Portland office of Ankrom Moisan Associated Architects will also aid in the space's interior design.
