AGI Analysis Software Supports NASA's GLAST Mission

Posted on: Monday, 9 June 2008, 12:00 CDT

EXTON, Pa., June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- NASA is scheduled to launch its latest space telescope no earlier than June 11, 2008. The Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope (GLAST) will use its instruments to study space objects that generate gamma-ray radiation, giving researchers the opportunity to answer some of space's most mysterious questions. NASA, along with the Goldbelt Orca, Inc./Omitron, Inc. team, combined AGI's STK analysis and 3-D visualization software suite and AGI's Orbit Determination Tool Kit (ODTK) into one system that will schedule TDRS communications based on antenna placement and spacecraft attitude. In addition, the team will use ODTK to get better orbit estimates from their GPS receiver. These capabilities will enable GLAST to meet orbit requirements and explore some of space's most extreme environments.
