Helping Youngsters Make a Difference to Their Community
THE Community Space Challenge is designed to help young people to change neglected neighbourhood spaces into green spaces for the community to enjoy.
The Community Space Challenge is a national project which attracts pounds 8.5 million from the Government and it involves 70 projects across the country.
The St George’s in the Community Project, which is the Birmingham branch of the Community Space Challenge, started in December 2007 and will be funded for five years to carry out environmental projects in the area.
It is a joint programme between Crime Concern, Encams, the Youth Justice Board, The Prince’s Trust and the Big Lottery Fund and Changemakers.
