THESE incredible images never seen by the public show that UK looks ace… from space.

Pictures taken from satellites, planes and helicopters – then processed by the latest computer generated imagery – reveal flight paths, roads and shipping lanes at work.

Everything from London taxi journeys to phone calls crisscrossing the nation are replicated in the breathtaking scenes.

In BBC series Britain from Above, presenter Andrew Marr takes to the skies to give viewers a bird’s eye view of landmarks across the UK. The programme aims to show how Britain keeps moving all in the space of a day.

Director Cassian Harrison, said: “It has been amazing to work with cameras mounted on so many helicopters and planes.

“It has been a battle with the elements, working out how many ways it is possible to look down at the nation. It’s like Google Earth, but for real.”

This is surely one sats test passed with flying colours…

Britain From Above begins on BBC1, Sunday at 9pm.
