New Cycle Of Solar Activity May Cause Social Unrest

A new cycle of solar activity, which will reach its peak in 2011-2012, will bring large emissions of radiation and cause social unrest on the Earth, Academic Adviser of the Russian Academy of Engineering Sciences Yuri Zaitsev told Interfax-AVN.
"Scientists expect a new cycle of solar activity and are trying to predict what the 24th cycle would be like. The cycle begins with a series of major solar flares, which shows that the entire period will not be easy," he said.
He said the largest discharges of solar radiation and coronal mass ejections would happen in late 2011 - early 2012.
"On the whole, the new cycle of solar activity will be 30-50% more powerful than the previous one, which witnessed a series of super-cataclysms," he said.
The unprecedented solar flares of the recent years, the anomaly growth of solar activity and the insufficient information about solar processes require special attention to their possible influence on the planet, Zaitsev said.
The solar activity may cause social unrest (wars and revolutions), as well as theological, scientific and technological breakthroughs, he said.
"The relationship between solar activity and diverse processes on the Earth, including those social, became apparent long ago, but its mechanism is still a mystery. Understanding of this mechanism is a pressing task of modern science," he said.
