Moscow, 21 June: Roskosmos [Russian Federal Space Agency] is against deploying weapons in space, the agency's chief, Anatoliy Perminov, told journalists today.
"Russian Defence Minister Sergey Ivanov gave a very good answer to the question on a possible deployment of weapons in space. He rejects the idea of weapons deployment in space. I share his opinion. We, civilian specialists, would not like to have weapons in space and we would not like space to be turned into an arena of military operations," Perminov said.
