Colbert lobbies NASA for space name
U.S. talk show host Stephen Colbert is campaigning to have the International Space Station's new room named after him, Variety.com reported.
An online NASA poll is being conducted through March 20 to determine what the name of the room should be. The winning handle is to be announced next month.
NASA has suggested Earthrise, Legacy, Serenity and Venture as possible names, noting the name
should reflect the spirit of exploration and cooperation embodied by the space station. Colbert, however, is asking fans to write in his name on the poll.
Variety.com said that even if the write-in campaign earns Colbert's name the most votes, NASA reserves the right to make the final decision.
