Maine Astronaut to Fly on Next Space Shuttle Mission

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Charlie Hobaugh, of Bar Harbor, Maine, will command space shuttle Atlantis' next mission to the International Space Station. The STS-129 flight is targeted to launch at 4:10 p.m. EST on Nov. 12 from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The 11-day flight will deliver two spare parts platforms that will be installed to the space station's exterior to sustain station operations after the shuttle is retired. This will be Hobaugh's third spaceflight. He served as the pilot on STS-104 in 2001 and STS-118 in 2007.
