Bush 'to announce new space programme'

PRESIDENT Bush will today announce a major new space programme as the U. S. celebrates 100 years of powered flight.
White House sources said two projects are under consideration - another manned flight to the Moon and a nuclear spaceship to Jupiter's moons.
Magnetic field measurements indicate that beneath their ice, liquid oceans are the most likely places in the solar system after our own planet to find life.
In a speech today, during centenary celebrations to mark the Wright Brothers' first flight, Mr Bush will unveil plans that also include a permanent lunar outpost and a manned trip to Mars.
Sources confirmed last night that the U.S. has been working in secret since August on a blueprint for interplanetary travel within 30 years.
