Budding Astronauts? Just Watch This Space . . . Nasa Trip for Schoolkids
September 6, 2005
THESE budding scientists are shooting for the stars, thanks to space agency Nasa.
They were among 26 pupils from across Scotland who jetted out to Nasa’s Space Centre in Texas to take part in groundbreaking science workshops.
The 10-day programme, backed by Careers Scotland and the Scottish Executive, aims to show pupils how science can lead to exciting careers.
Ross Donnelly, 17, from Lourdes Secondary; Ysabelle Freya Del Monte, 16, from Mearns Castle High; Jacqueline Carroll, 16, from St Andrew’s and St Bride’s School; and Sarah Cunningham, 17, from Holyrood Secondary School, were on the flight from Glasgow to Houston.
The students will work with Nasa astronauts and scientists to learn about the space programme.
