Moscow Meeting Of Space Agency Chiefs Cancelled

October 17, 2003

BAIKONUR. Oct 17 (Interfax) – A meeting between the chiefs of space agencies on International Space Station (ISS) operations due in Moscow on Sunday has been cancelled, Russian Aerospace Agency deputy chief Nikolai Moiseyev told Interfax on Friday.

Sources at the agency did not rule out that the meeting had been cancelled over the sickness of agency head Yuri Koptev.

“All pressing problems were discussed in Bremen during an international congress, so we will put off the meeting to a later date,” Moiseyev said. In the meantime, consultations will continue with experts from partner countries.

“We will consider everything necessary at working meetings in Baikonur during preparations for the launch [of Expedition 8 on Saturday]. We have many chances to discuss everything,” he said.
