MOSCOW. Dec 29 (Interfax) – The AMC-23 U.S. telecom satellite launched by Russia’s Proton-M rocket from the Baikonur spaceport in Kazakhstan Thursday morning is now in the designated orbit and under the client’s control, a source in the Federal Space Agency’s central information post told Interfax.
“The Briz-M upper stage put the satellite in the designated orbit. AMC-23 separated from the upper stage and is now under the control of the client – the U.S.-based Worldsat company,” the source said.
