NEW YORK (AP) - Boeing Co. has received a contract extension from NASA for its work on the International Space Station that could be worth $1.62 billion, if all options are exercised.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration said Wednesday the basic contract extension granted to aerospace giant Boeing runs for two years and nine months and is valued at $1 billion. If the four six-month options are exercised, the contract value would increase by $620 million.
Chicago-based Boeing is to provide, among other things, support for hardware and software for the U.S. portion of the station. NASA said it granted the Boeing extension as part of a restructuring of station contracts.
Boeing reported 2002 revenue of $54.07 billion.
