IN BRIEF – WASHINGTON: NASA gives Boeing extension on space station contract

The National Aeronautics and Space Agency has granted Boeing Co. an extension of its contract to work on the International Space Station that could be worth as much as $1.62 billion if all options are exercised.

NASA said the contract extension will be for two years and nine months with four six-month extensions available. The contract calls for Boeing to provide hardware and software for the U.S. part of the multination project.
