German Astronaut to Join Iss Crew in May – Esa

MOSCOW. Feb 26 (Interfax-AVN) – European Space Agency astronaut Thomas Reiter from Germany will join Russian cosmonaut Pavel Vinogradov and U.S. astronaut Jeffrey Williams for a long-duration mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS) in May, ESA said in a press release.

Reiter’s stay on board the ISS is due to last six to seven months, the release reads. He will travel to the station as part of the U.S. space shuttle program.

Reiter previously served as an ESA astronaut on the 179-day Euromir 95 mission to the Soviet-built space station Mir, the release reads.
