Text of report by Russian Channel One TV on 9 January

Specialists from the Russian Mission Control Centre, based in Moscow Region, successfully corrected the orbital position of the International Space Station last night [at 2000 gmt 8 Jan 04]. It was done for the first time in 2004. The orbit’s altitude was raised 2.5 km. The station is now kept at the altitude of about 400 kilometres above Earth.

The manoeuvre was carried out with the engines of the Russian Progress cargo spacecraft [docked with the station] and lasted a little bit more than five minutes. Its purpose was to put the station in the necessary position for docking with another supply vehicle that will head to ISS at the end of January.
