MOSCOW (AFP) -- A Russian space vessel ferrying supplies to the International Space Station (ISS) has successfully docked, the Russian space flight control centre revealed.
The Progress M1-11, launched Thursday from the Baikonur cosmodrome that Russia rents from its Central Asian neighbour Kazakhstan, is delivering food, water and fuel.
It has on board personal packages for the two-man Russian-American team on the space station, Interfax news agency said Saturday.
It is also delivering equipment for a Russian-European scientific experiment into the level of radiation absorbed by humans during long-term space flights.
Michael Foale of the United States and the Russian Alexander Kaleri have been on the international space station since October.
