Traveling Bands Have a Place to Stop, Play During GFL Fest
Traveling bands have a place to stop, play during GFL Fest
The second-annual Gas-Food-Lodging Music Festival brings a unique variety of performances to venues across Baton Rouge through the month of March.
Some local club owners and entertainment promoters decided last year to take advantage of the national and international acts passing through the region en route to the South By Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas.
They coined the term “gas, food and lodging,” because many of the bands performing in Austin would need to earn extra money out on the road – and bringing superior live music to Baton Rouge wasn’t a bad idea either.
This year’s local venues sponsoring the GFL shows are Red Star, Spanish Moon, North Gate Tavern, SoGo Live and Chelsea’s Cafe at its new location under the overpass on Perkins Road.
