BAIKONUR. April 14 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) - The main crews and standby crews of Expedition 9 to the International Space Station (ISS) trained at Baikonur space center on Wednesday ahead of the launch to the station slated for April 19.

"The cosmonauts examined the equipment of the Soyuz TMA-4 spaceship, studied the schedule of scientific experiments and exercised the use of the Iridium communication system," Interfax was told at the space center.

After the training, commander of the main crew Russian cosmonaut Gennady Padalka said the crews were fully prepared for the mission.

"We have a closely-knit team. I am sure that we will carry out our main mission - ISS maintenance," he said.
