Korolev (Moscow Region), 27 May: A Progress M-49 transport spacecraft successfully docked with the International Space Station at 1755 Moscow time [1355 gmt] on Thursday [27 May].
An Interfax correspondent was told at Mission Control Centre that the docking took place with the Zvezda module of the Russian segment of the International Space Station in automatic mode.
The transport spacecraft delivered about 2.5 tonnes of cargo to the station: water and food for the crew, fuel and equipment for a resupply of the station and packages for the cosmonauts working in orbit.
The "truck" also delivered a Russian Orlan-M spacesuit, clothing and about 50 containers of Russian and American foodstuffs for the crew.
A representative of the institute of medical and biological problems told Interfax that several DVDs with favourite films and a few books were delivered to Russian cosmonaut Gennadiy Padalka.
The ninth crew, made up of Padalka and the American Michael Fincke, has been working in orbit since the middle of April and will remain at the station until October.
