Iss Russian Crewmember Padalka Celebrates 46th Birthday

MOSCOW. June 21 (Interfax) - Russian crewmember of the International Space Station (ISS) Gennady Padalka is celebrating his 46th birthday.
"It will be a regular working day for Gennady. Michael Fincke and he will prepare for a spacewalk, which has been scheduled for the early hours of June 25," a source in the mission control center told Interfax on Monday.
"The cosmonaut will celebrate his birthday on the crew's day off. He will have a communication session with his family on that day," he said.
A Progress cargo spaceship has delivered a sealed parcel from Padalka's family to the ISS. The cosmonaut will open it on Monday.
Padalka was born in Krasnodar on June 21, 1958. He is married with three daughters, the oldest of whom is 25. Padalka had a 199- day space mission in 1998, which included two spacewalks with a total duration of over six hours. Padalka is a fan of parachute sports, diving and theater.
