NASA Astronauts Land at Wired Nextfest Sept. 28-30

HOUSTON, Sept. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- NASA astronauts from Space Shuttle Discovery, STS-121 mission, will join Wired Magazine and various technology companies at Wired Nextfest 2006. Pilot Mark Kelly and Mission Specialists Michael Fossum, Stephanie Wilson and Lisa Nowak will participate in question- and-answer sessions with area students and sign autographs. The event is Sept. 28-30 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, 11th Ave. W. 39th Street, New York City.

STS-121, which visited the International Space Station, was the second return-to-flight test mission. Kelly, a native of West Orange, N.J., made his second trip into space aboard Discovery. Fossum conducted three spacewalks during the 13-day mission. Wilson and Nowak operated the robotic arms of the International Space Station and the space shuttle.

Nextfest festivities include more than 130 interactive exhibits, demonstrations by researchers and scientists, and various opportunities to meet the STS-121 crew members. Media and visitors of all ages are welcome.
