Space Display Totellof Solar System
INNOVATIVE space missions trying to answer important questions about the solar system are to be featured in an exhibition opening today.
The Science Museum attraction will showcase projects as diverse as a study of Saturn’s ring system to a probe which has collected a sample of solar wind.
It will also look at other unmanned missions exploring our solar system and will feature the latest developments in European space technology.
Visitors will have the chance to design their own lander to touch down safely on another planet and can take part in a fun quiz to test their knowledge of the solar system.
The exhibition in London will feature recent and future missions including the Cassini-Huygens project. The Cassini spacecraft is due to begin orbiting Saturn on Thursday and should give scientists the best view yet of the planet’s famous rings.
