Russian Military Satellite Goes into Orbit

Moscow, 23 July: The Kosmos-3M carrier rocket, launched from the Plesetsk space centre on Thursday [22 July], has successfully delivered a Kosmos-series military satellite to the orbit specified, the Space Troops press service told Interfax-Military News Agency
. The military satellite was successfully delivered to the orbit specified at 10.49 p.m. time (1849 gmt). It has received a serial number of Kosmos-2407, a press service official said. According to him, reliable communications have been established and are maintained with the military satellite, launched in the interest of the Russian Defence Ministry. The Kosmos-2407 onboard equipment operates perfectly. At 11.22 p.m. Moscow time (1922 gmt) the satellite was transferred under the control of the Space Troops Command and Control Centre, tasked with further control of the satellite.Related Articles
