Nasa Probe to Embark on Seven-Year Trip to Mercury

NASA is about to embark on its hottest mission – to Mercury. The Messenger spacecraft, to be launched next week, will be blasted by up to 700F heat as it orbits the tiny planet closest to the sun.

It is estimated the spacecraft will take seven years to travel the 50 million miles from Earth to Mercury.
