A TRIP into space for EUR150,000 could be on offer in three years and fares could fall to EUR15,000 by 2021.
Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson wants to bring down the current EUR18million cost of space tourism. He has had talks with technical designers.
His spokesman said: "We are looking at the space project very seriously.
"It would be small passenger numbers to start.
"They would experience weightlessness and all things people associate with space - the curvature of the Earth, the blackness of space and the stars in all their glory."
In 2001 US tycoon Dennis Tito paid EUR18million to join a Russian space mission and become the first space tourist.
