A MYSTERIOUS radio signal from outer space could be a message from aliens, say astronomers.
It has been beamed to Earth three times and picked up by the giant Arecibo radio telescope in Puerto Rico.
Scientists have not been able to analyse the signal, named SHGbo2+14a, as it only lasts a minute.
However, they say it is unlikely to be radio interference or a hoaxer.
Radio astronomer Dan Werthaimer, from the University of California, said: "We're not jumping up and down, but we are continuing to observe it."
However, other experts say an alien would send a message via a physical object because radio signals break up during space travel.
