Commercial Satellite To Take Off From Sea Launch Platform August 7

MOSCOW. July 16 (Interfax) - A Zenit 3SL Russian-Ukrainian carrier rocket will lift a commercial satellite into orbit from the Sea Launch platform on August 7, Valery Lyndin, spokesman for Mission Control, told Interfax on Wednesday.
This will be the second take-off from the floating launch pad this year. The first launch took place on June 10. The Zenit 3SL put the Thuraya D2 satellite into orbit for the United Arab Emirates.
Three to five launches are expected to be made from the Sea Launch platform this year.
The launching area of the floating cosmodrome is off Christmas Island in the Pacific.
