Russia Launches Space Satellite

Moscow, 24 September: A Soyuz-V booster rocket with a Kosmos satellite lifted off from the Plesetsk launch site at 2050 Moscow time [1650 gmt] today, a spokesman for the Russian Space Troops reported to Interfax.
“According to the Main Centre for Testing and Controlling Space Resources and the Space Troops command centre, the Soyuz-V launch proceeded according to plan,” a spokesman said.
The satellite is scheduled to be placed in orbit at 2059 Moscow time, he said.
