Space Telescope Aims to Focus on Dawn of Creation ; Meaningof Life 'Hidden in the Stars'

Posted on: Friday, 1 October 2004, 06:00 CDT

ASTRONOMERS will soon be able to look back to the time of creation 13 billion years ago, according to an expert at the Armagh Planetarium.

According to Christian astronomers, the Hubble space telescope has revealed that the meaning of life has been hidden in the stars all the time.

And local space watchers have confirmed that the powerful telescope has already looked back through the universe to 10 billion years ago.

Mario DiMaggio of the Armagh Planetarium explained: "Hubble has crystal clear views of space - the deeper it looks into the universe, the further back in time it is seeing.

"The light we see from the billions of galaxies which lie in the deepest realms of the universe takes billions of years just to reach us.

"Hubble has already looked back through space to some 10 billion years ago and the New Generation Space Telescopes of the future hope to look back even further to the time of creation itself some 12 or 13 billion years ago.

"Although we wouldn't be able to actually see Moses, for instance, we would be able to see what was happening when he was around some estimated 4,000 years ago.

"However, looking at things from a different angle - if a life- form on a planet 4,000 light years from earth looked through a telescope they would be able to see the old bearded fella!" Evidence of Biblical times - possible through Hubble - are set to be revealed on a new United Christian Broadcasters website next month.

Dr Victor Pearce, author of Evidence for Truth, said: "Many new scientific discoveries confirm the word of the Bible as true."
