Mohini Rawat, Physical Therapist of Hands-On EMG Testing received today her Doctorate in Physical Therapy degree as reported by Hands-On News.
Astoria, NY (PRWEB) May 10, 2013
DPT or Doctorate in Physical Therapy is a clinical Doctoral degree similar to an MD or a DO, DPM, or a Pharm D degree and it has become the entry-level degree for physical therapists. Practicing physical therapists who have received degrees other than a DPT, have the ability to join transitional university programs that help them achieve their DPT after completing rigorous course work.
Mohini Rawat, practicing physical therapist from Westchester, NY joined MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA two years ago and received today her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. “It has helped me realize where Physical Therapy is in its professional growth trajectory compared to other Doctoring Professions. As we advance further our doctoring profession we are creating a positive impact on the profession and the society at large” Dr. Rawat told Hands-On News.
In a recent interview Dr. Rawat explained that “PT’s have not done enough to market themselves properly. The public is confused and we are confused by different professional degree initials we use. The move to the DPT according to APTA 2020 vision is intended to “level the playing field” in terms of our education and accurately describe our accredited entry-level programs as awarding the same degree for the same education across all programs.”
Dr. Rawat practices specializes in clinical electrophysiology testing and she is the clinical director of Hands-On EMG Testing with offices in New York and Florida. “In my twenty-five year clinical experience I have met only a handful of healthcare professionals with the ethos and passion that Dr Rawat has for the profession” Hands-On News told Dr. Dimitrios Kostopoulos co-founder of Hands-On EMG Testing.
