Celtics’ Garnett May Miss All-Star Game
Boston, MA (Sports Network) – Boston Celtics star forward Kevin Garnett missed his seventh consecutive game with a strained abdominal muscle Sunday, and coach Doc Rivers indicated he might not play in the NBA All-Star Game.
Garnett, the leading vote-getter for the All-Star Game to be played February 17 in New Orleans, is averaging 19.2 points and 9.9 rebounds per game this season.
"I don’t see him playing Tuesday or Wednesday and I don’t see him playing in the All-Star Game, either," Rivers said. "We don’t know that yet. We’ll decide that soon, probably as soon as Monday. I just don’t see that happening."
Garnett has been sidelined for two weeks since suffering the injury against his former team, the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Celtics outlasted San Antonio, 98-90, on Sunday and are now 5-2 without Garnett.
