Potential All-Williams Final at Wimbledon

Venus and Serena Williams, who have six of the last eight Wimbledon women's titles to their credit, could meet in the Grand Slam event's finals this year.
Venus Williams, who won her fourth Wimbledon title last year, is in the bottom half of the bracket that includes second-seeded Jelena Jankovic, whom Williams could meet in the quarterfinals, and No. 3 Maria Sharapova, who could be a Williams' semifinal opponent.
Even with that, Serena Williams, who won Wimbledon titles in 2002 and 2003, would seem to have the tougher path to a potential finals meeting with her sister. Her half includes world No. 1 and French Open champion Ana Ivanovic and fourth-seeded Svetlana Kuznetsova. It also includes players such as Amelie Mauresmo and Marion Bartoli, who have previous Grand Slam success, to get past before facing the highest-ranked players.
Play in the grass-court tournament begins Monday. The women's singles final is set for July 5.
Wimbledon is the year's third Grand Slam event.
Sharapova won the Australian Open and Ivanovic the French Open. The fourth slam, the U.S. Open, is scheduled Aug. 25-Sept. 7.
