CC Sabathia pitched a complete-game four-hitter Sunday to lead Milwaukee to a regular season-ending 3-1 victory against the Chicago Cubs.
The victory helped Milwaukee retain a chance to win the National League wild card chase.
Sunday's biggest hit was Ryan Braun's two-run, eighth-inning homer.
Craig Counsell drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk in the seventh as the Brewers finished the regular season with wins in six of their last seven games.
Sabathia (11-2), making his third straight start on three days rest, walked one batter, struck out seven and threw 81 of his 122 pitches for strikes.
Chicago's run scored on Ronny Cedeno's second-inning, RBI groundout.
Aramis Ramirez and Ryan Theriot both had two hits for the NL Central champion Cubs, who lost three of their last four regular-season contests.
The losing pitcher was reliever Bob Howry (7-5), the last of seven Chicago pitchers.
