USA Basketball moving to Arizona
USA Basketball, the organization that oversees the country’s national basketball teams, is moving its headquarters to Glendale, Ariz.
USA Basketball has had its office in Colorado Springs, where the U.S. Olympic Committee also has its headquarters, for 29 years. No timetable for the move was announced.
The move to Glendale, a suburb of Phoenix, will put USA Basketball in a facility near the home sites of the NHL’s Phoenix Coyotes and NFL’s Arizona Cardinals. It is also the home of USA Basketball Board Chairman Jerry Colangelo, who used to own the Coyotes, Arizona Diamondbacks and other sports franchises.
A release by USA Basketball said the Glendale area will see an economic impact of more than $54 million a year with the relocation.
