NBA: Boston 114, Indiana 96
Rajon Rondo delivered Boston’s first triple-double in two seasons Wednesday and sent the Celtics to their 10th straight win — 114-96 over Indiana.
Rondo scored 16 points, collected 13 rebounds and handed out 17 assists. Ryan Gomes had produced the most recent Boston triple-double, that coming in November 2006 against Charlotte. Gomes eventually became part of the Boston trade with Minnesota that brought the Celtics Kevin Garnett.
Ray Allen scored 31 points for Boston and Garnett had 26. Indiana is one of just two teams this year (Denver being the other) to have defeated Boston.
The Pacers, who have lost three out of four, got 20 points from Danny Granger. Indiana, which stunned the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, are in the midst of a difficult four-game stretch that will see them take on Cleveland and Boston again.
Boston put together a 12-0 run in the second quarter that erased a four-point deficit.
