NBA: Chicago 105, New York 100
Drew Gooden had 22 points and 16 rebounds, and the New York Knicks’ shooting cooled late, allowing the Chicago Bulls to pull out a 105-100 victory Tuesday.
While the Bulls led after each of the first two quarters, the Knicks forged a 78-77 edge going into the final period. But in the final 1:29, the Knicks missed three of their last four shots and Chicago held on.
Ben Gordon added 17 points and Luol Deng 16 for the Bulls. Derrick Rose, who needed 10 stitches to close a gash in his left forearm early Monday after he rolled onto a knife while eating an apple in bed, had 15 points and seven assists.
Al Harrington scored 28 points for the Knicks, who have lost four of their last five games. Quentin Richardson added 22 points, David Lee 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Chris Duhon, who signed with the Knicks in the off-season after spending the first four seasons of his NBA career in Chicago, had 15 points and 14 assists in his first game against his former team.
