NBA: Detroit 114, Indiana 110
Rasheed Wallace touched off a stretch of five free throws in the final 14 seconds Friday that preserved the Detroit Pistons’ 114-110 win over Indiana.
Richard Hamilton scored 28 points and Rodney Stuckey had 21 for the Pistons, who halted a three-game losing streak. Allen Iverson chipped in 17 points and dealt out 12 assists.
Detroit overcame a career-high 42 points from Indiana’s Danny Granger, who could not prevent the Pacers from losing their fifth in a row.
Indiana closed within one with 28 seconds remaining when Granger made a three-pointer, but Wallace followed with two foul shots for a 111-108 lead.
Granger brought the Pacers back within one with a layup at the 10-second mark, after which Hamilton was good on one of two tries from the line.
An attempt to tie the game by T.J. Ford failed to go and Arron Afflalo hit two free throws with a second to play that clinched the game.
